On his debut appearance in the Asian Snooker Championship, Ankit Man Shrestha from Nepal has reached the Last-16 knockout stage and was scheduled to play his prelim knockout match against Mohammed Al-Binali of Qatar. The whole match went for more than 5 hours where both gave a tough fight to each other. The deciding frame saw certain snooker and safe shots but in the end, Ankit played the match-winning shot and won the deciding frame by one point 75-74. The other prelim knockout matches are won by Khalid Kamali of UAE against Mohammed Rais Senzahi of Afghanistan 4-0; Bashar Abdulmajeed of Qatar against Khaled Alastal of Palestine 4-3; and Tam Yun Fung of Hong Kong against Mhanaa Alobaidli 4-1.
