Indian player Pankaj Advani survived in the deciding frame from a very tricky position and made his team win to enter single elimination round as group topper. With this win, team India-1 (Pankaj Advani, Aditya Mehta and Laxman Rawat) have reached directly into quarter final stage.

In the morning session, team India-1 played well and registered 3-0 win against team Jordan where Pankaj scored the match winning break of 95 in doubles frame.

Their second match had many ups and down where four frames had on black ball game finish. Initially the first frame got slipped from Advani who lost to Nadir Khan Sultani by a close margin of 8 points. In third frame Advani placed a break of 58 but despite that they lost the frame by only 4 points.

Laxman, however, stayed effective and clinched the fourth frame (66-54) to set decider where this time Senzahi obtained good lead over Advani. The lead was so big that Advani required multiple snooker on colour balls. He did not lose hope and continued to fight. Lastly on blue ball he needed three snooker to tie the score, which he did and then potted the re-spotted black for victory to India.

With this victory they grabbed 4th seed for the knockout stage and will play the quarter final directly.

Though there is some disappointment in Indian camp as their other team (Kamal Chawla, Sundeep Gulati and Sourav Kothari) failed to win any match and got elimination from group stage only.
