Billiard Sports events in 30th SEA Games 2019 started on 3rd December and today the final of first discipline i.e. 9 Ball Pool Men Doubles was played between Team Myanmar (Aung Moe Thu and Phone Myint Kyaw) against team Singapore (Lian Han Toh and Aloysuis Yapp). The final won by Myanmar 9-4 to win GOLD for their country. Myanmar boys played with superb controlled and won racks after rack to get 8-0 lead in the race-to-9 frames final. They were just a rack away from victory when team Singapore made a strong comeback. Though it was late rise for team Singapore but they did not lose hope and secured next 4 racks in a row in attempt to cut the huge lead. Singapore players were putting all efforts and moving towards the strong hold. They had chance to secure 13th rack too, but an off-the-cushion shot left the object ball No.1 on corner pocket, which Myanmar boys took with ease and acquired all remaining balls in sequence to win the match and GOLD for the country. This is fifth Gold medal for Myanmar in the history of SEA Games. However, the previous four were in English Billiards and now Gold in Pool also.
